Thomas & Friends Station Stop Matching Game Reviews

Review by Pam Tee:

Oh My Gosh, these Thomas games are great. I don’t know who thought them up but they are wonderful teaching aids. They take many of the common educational games and rework them using Thomas and his Friends.

With this game you get 4 playing boards (they call these `lotto style’ boards for reasons unclear to me-but their just playing boards LOL) and 36 character cards. With these preschoolers and kindergartners can play matching and memory and `what’s missing’ games.

Five Stars. Trainloads of fun and we have found that it is an excellent way to teach our little guy to take turns and practice memory skills. (He’s 3.5 at present.)

[This will be the second Thomas game we purchased. The first was the Thomas 'Number Game'. Great for math. I recommend you check it out.]

Review by Morgan Thomas:

My son is 2 and he got this for Christmas from “Santa:).” He absolutely loves it! He has learned all the Thomas characters and we play the matching game to help build his skills and recall. It’s a great game for 2+ and Mommy and Daddy love to play it with him!

Thomas Train Case Reviews

Review by D. Cagle:

My son received this as a gift. I love that the inside is set up like “shelves”. My son loves to organize his trains in it. I don’t like how thin the metal is. It dents as easy as a cola can. If it were made better, it would be worth the money. Save your money on this one and find something better made.

Review by :

My 3 year old was so excited about his new “train suitcase” but when we filled it up with all his trains it became rather heavy for him to carry. Since the case is made of metal, it hurts really bad when he dropped it on his foot, has a few dents in it from banging it on the hardwood stairs as he carries it to his room and took out a little chunck of drywall as he rounded the corner too fast with it. Great concept – it keeps all his trains in perfect order – just wish it would have been hard plastic.

A Day Out with Thomas Game Reviews

Review by Ben Pearson:

I first played this game with my son when he was 2.5 years old and I thought it was the dumbest game out there. With that said, please ignore the reviews that state this is not a great game because when we played the game right after he turned 3 we both discovered what an amazing game it really was. My son LOVES the game and it has a lot of educational value. I personally get a little bored after playing it several times a day, but there aren’t many 3 year old activities that don’t get a little boring after multiple times. The fact that he wants to play the game multiple times in one day and the fact that he will play the game for over an hour says it all. The game is great at working with counting since they have to count the train stops as they take their turns. When they land on stars they have to engage in an activity that’s great for preschoolers’ imagination and social skills. For instance, at one of the stops, the player draws a card with a picture on it and the player has to tell a story. This stop has been awesome for developing my childs imagination play. He was so shy about telling the stories at first and now he’s quite the actor. Another stop has them act out an animal for others to guess. He has a blast both guessing and acting out the animals. Another stop instructs them to sing a song. Again, a really good activity for a preschooler to have to do in front of others. The magic stop has them count the number of rabbits in a hat and then have the other players guess. The player can say “lower” or “higher” or use his/her fingers to give clues. The only stop that’s lame is the icecream stop. But, oddly, this is one of my son’s favorites so it’s just lame for adults. The player has to ask everyone their favorite icecream flavor and then they draw cards to see if they remember which card to give each player(chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla). This is one of those games where you have to be willing to be the interactive parent and have fun, even if it doesn’t seem fun to you. We changed up the rules at first and had everyone participate when a player landed on a star stop so that my son could see how fun it was to tell a story or have people guess the number of rabbits. If you want an engaging, interactive, educational game AND your child loves Thomas the Train, this is a great game.

Review by Joanne Davis:

My grandson got this game for Christmas and enjoys it tremendously! I only gave it 4 stars because the “trips around the board” could be less.

Not only has it kept his interest, but it is a great game for “family” time….even his 18 month old sister gets in on the fun.

Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends

If order is important to your child, Thomas the Tank Engine’s world is probably a favorite place. In Thomas and Friends: The Great Festival Adventure, kids enter the tidy world of Thomas and Friends and immediately set about polishing engines, loading boxcars with the right items, and making sure passengers get onto the train in timely, proper fashion. All the while, Sir Topham Hatt encourages kids with phrases such as “I know I can trust you to be really useful.” High praise in this place where practicality is paramount. This CD-ROM could win an award for cinematography–the “camera” tracks, zooms, and swoops through the activities. Thomas, Percy, and everyone’s favorites, the Troublesome Trucks, move about the Island of Sodor preparing for the upcoming festival. The seven activities are either of the counting/sorting/pattern-recognition variety or ones that work on basic hand-eye coordination and mouse control. Kids can go to the engine shed to polish, oil, and wrench the engines into prime working condition; unload Bulstrode the Barge and fit the packages into the boxcar with the matching label; or help round up cows that escaped from a farmer’s pen. Each task has only three levels of difficulty, and they can be completed quickly by a kid with some computer savvy or an older child. Between these chores are short vignettes involving Thomas and his friends, making this CD-ROM feel familiar to fans of the television show. While the age range for this program is “2 and up,” don’t assume that it’ll keep your 5-year-old busy for very long. But if you have a helpful 3-year-old who needs to learn how to mouse and count, Thomas and Friends can put your child on the right track. –Anne EricksonThis game sets players on the Island of Sodor, where Thomas and his

Thomas And Friends: Special Delivery Reviews

Review by Jennifer Donovan:

My four-year-old son is a Thomas freak. He also loves the computer–websites, computer games etc–so to think he would enjoy this was a no-brainer.

The video quality is great. It runs well on my Vista computer (without hanging up). He loves the different activities, and watching the story as it goes along through them.

The child can pick their favorite engine to drive the story (Thomas, Percy or James, I think).

Thumbs up from the kid and the mom!

Review by K. Montanez:

My 2.5 yr old loves everything THOMAS! So naturally we had to get him Thomas and Friends software for his computer. He loves it!
